Fish Tales™
Fish Tales™ is operated by ClearCrest Logic, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use Fish Tales™, how we use it, and your rights over your data. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version: We collect only what is needed to run Fish Tales™. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. When you delete something, it is gone. When you delete your account, everything goes with it.
Fish Tales™ is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. The app includes social features that allow users to share catch photos and location data with connected friends. Parents and guardians should supervise account creation and friend connections for minors using the app.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete their information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address listed at the bottom of this policy.
We collect only what you give us directly and what is necessary for the app to function.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, browsing history, device contacts, microphone access, or any data beyond what is listed above.
We use your information only to operate Fish Tales™. Specifically:
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes of any kind.
Your data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database and authentication platform that encrypts data in transit and at rest. Your catch photos and profile photo are stored in Supabase's secure cloud storage. Your password is never stored in plain text.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely immune to security risks. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Fish Tales™ may request permission to access your device's location. Location is never collected automatically or in the background. GPS coordinates are captured only when you explicitly tap the GPS capture button on a specific catch entry. You may decline at any time with no impact on app functionality.
GPS coordinates are stored only for the specific catch you attached them to. They are never shared with third parties and are only visible to friends you explicitly share that catch with, and only if you choose to include location in what you share.
Photos you upload are stored in our secure cloud storage and are only visible to you and any friends you explicitly share a specific catch with. We do not scan, analyze, or use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them within the app.
If you enable Auto-Save to Gallery in Settings, catch photos will also be saved to your device's local photo library at the time of upload. This is controlled by you and can be turned off at any time.
Fish Tales™ allows you to share catches with friends you are connected to in the app. Sharing is always intentional and controlled by you. You choose which friends to share with and which details to include — species, measurements, bait, location, and notes are all individually selectable. There is no public feed and you cannot share with users you are not already connected with.
When you share a catch, the selected details become visible to the specific friends you chose. Friends who received the share may retain a record of what was shared with them even if you later delete the catch from your own history.
Fish Tales™ uses Supabase to provide database, authentication, and file storage services. Supabase processes your data solely to power the app and does not use your data for any independent purpose. You can review Supabase's privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party tracking or analytics tools.
You have full control over your data at all times:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a catch, it is permanently removed immediately. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our systems. We do not retain archived copies of deleted accounts or deleted content.
Free plan users have catches older than 90 days hidden from view within the app, but catch data (species, measurements, notes, date, and location) remains safely stored and is restored immediately upon upgrading to Pro. Catch photos uploaded by free plan users are stored for one year from the date of upload and then permanently deleted from our storage system. Pro users' photos are stored indefinitely for as long as their account remains active. Only an explicit account deletion or individual catch deletion removes data permanently outside of this schedule.
Users whose Pro subscription lapses are provided a 30-day grace period during which their photos remain in storage and are not subject to deletion. During this period the feed reverts to the standard 90-day visibility window. If the subscription is renewed within the grace period, no photos are deleted and full history is restored immediately. After the grace period expires, the standard free tier photo retention policy applies.
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and secure authentication. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Fish Tales™ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians with concerns should contact us at the address below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you within the app for any significant changes. Your continued use of Fish Tales™ after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
